Joan Usher Barrel Saddles

                                    I'm very excited to introduce my new line of saddles & tack
As a professional barrel racer I went thru many years of trial & error trying to find the right saddle. One that fit my needs as a rider and one that fit my horses and allow them to perform at peak performance levels. In these saddles, with the help of Hadlock & Fox, we have acheived both!
Having had a training business with up to 20 horses in the barn I have been very happy with the fit of these saddles on most every horse
As a clinician I have witnessed the struggles many of my students have with an ill fitting saddle or one that does not help keep the rider balanced. Much of what I see is a saddle that allows and actually encourages the riders feet to get behind them. This is a real detriment to being able to keep up with your horse and maintain balance.
In these saddles I have designed a method to make sure that the rider will be able to keep their feet under them for that all important foundation. Again with the help of Hadlock & fox we have notched in the bars a slot that holds the stirrup leather in place and then backed that up with a tether strap.
I have also added 2 sets of breast collar Dees for proper fit of breast collars on all types of horses.
The line of tack is designed to be fuctional & beautiful! Made with high quality leather to match the saddles. We can custom design to meet your needs!

This saddle has a flatter seat allowing the rider to move a bit. In designing this seat I thought of of the many times I have made money over the years by being able to stand up in an outside stirrup and get out of the way of hitting a barrel.

This design has a "pocket" seat. A deeper seat with a higher cantle that really keeps you centered on your horse. This is our big seller!
